Thanks, Kathy, for being the cheerleader on this and being willing to take the first stab.
Re: missing deadlines, I think the only sane way to approach this is to do the best we can and understand when each other is busy. We all have pretty full lives! So we'll be loosy goosy about it for as long as we can.
HOWEVER ... IF we get as far as sending a book proposal to an agent (and that's a big if) ... and IF we get as far as committing to a book contract (and that's a huge IF), we will have to meet the deadlines or we will lose money. So I guess what I'm saying is that self-imposed deadlines can be generous and lenient, but when it comes to deadlines imposed by agents and publishers, they are the law. It's the harsh reality of writing. But let's jump off that bridge when we come to it!!!
Thanks again, Kath, for taking the brave first step. Looking forward to reading what you send!

In my mind, the working title is "Lessons Learned on the Road to Somewhere". I want the weekend to arrange the examples/lessons I've been collecting. I'll email the stuff by end of weekend. Promise.
By the way, I think we should have a few guidelines as we move forward. One of them has to be that each of us is allowed to miss X deadlines. Don't know how many, but we should plan ahead for the inevitable interruption life hands us.
Look for me in your inboxes,

Working title: "Lessons Learned" -- or as I like to think of it, "Divine Secrets of the Blah Blah Sisterhood."
Step 1: Agree on a concept -- a unifying vision of what this book is.
Kathy, can you please send an example of one of the lessons you've been collecting?
Nancy and Linda, please send your ideas as well -- not necessarily for specific lessons, but for what you think this book could be.
I'll gather everything together and send it out for your comments and changes. Then we'll move on to the next step ... preparing a book proposal.
